Claro is a modern Mediterranean restaurant with Middle Eastern influences, set in a historic listed building in the heart of St. James’s. Founded by three close friends and rooted in the culinary vision of acclaimed chef Ran Shmueli, Claro brings the spirit of its iconic Tel Aviv restaurant to London—celebrating seasonality, generosity, and vibrant flavours.

Ran Shmueli has been a leading figure in the culinary scene for over 30 years. From top restaurant kitchens to founding a premier catering company, his career spans fine dining, major events, and television. In 2014, he opened the original Claro. With the new Claro London location, Ran brings his signature ingredient-led, seasonal Mediterranean cooking to a new stage.

 

Claro's day-to-day kitchen is run by Head Chef Shadi, whose cooking draws deeply from memory, heritage and a love of seasonal produce. Working alongside Ran, Shadi champions the best seasonal British produce, complemented by spices, aromatic herbs, and colourful vegetables.
